Item Description:
Here is a very nice looking Empire French Style Portico Clock of very good size. It stands almost 27 inches high and over 12 inches wide. The four turned columns support the elaborate rococco chapter ring and beautiful porcleain dial, with a sweep second hand. The wooden case is adorned with many carved applications. It has an ornate free swinging pendulum between the four columns, which is a grid iron and carved brass pendulum. It winds from the rear, and has an hour strike on a bell. It has a swivel base, in order to turn the clock around to wind it, quite an ingenious method. This clock is not antique, but looks identical to the 1875 French Empire Clock, and it keeps excellent time. On a retail basis, this clock should sell for over $1,500.
